A better metaphor for the mentality of the submissive I’m not going to find in this picture. Pushing the mind away and forcing the body towards the forefront. That’s what it’s all about; championing the carnal over the cerebral.

Except the repression isn’t really the cerebral half. There’s plenty to be thinking about, plenty to be considered. It’s the inhibitions, the societal pressures that we have to leave behind lest we become overwhelmed with anxiety and guilt. Misplaced anxiety and guilt, admittedly, but anxiety and guilt nonetheless.

Not really a metaphor, then. More a talking point, a fleeting little bit of imagery that I can use and abuse at my leisure. It’s not that I’m changeable, I’m just tricksy with the words.
